“The world needs different kinds of minds to work together.”

—Temple Grandin

Welcome to ArtsAbility!

Welcome to our community of ArtsAbility, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, where different kinds of minds work together to form an accepting, inclusive community of girls and women. A beautiful belle curve where women of all abilities are welcomed, engaged, enabled and empowered.

The motto of Artsability is Engage, Enable, Empower!

Engage.

We believe in the power of arts to be therapeutic and a medium to connect and communicate.

ArtsAbility seeks to foster a friendly, fun-filled, non-judgmental environment where girls can express themselves and be a part of a welcoming community of peers. There is no pressure to perform and each individual engages at her own pace.

The key to success is to banish the fear of failure.

Enable.

We aim to provide a safe and supportive environment to try out new activities, interact meaningfully with peers and practice socially integrative skills.

These include developing social and communication skills, understanding social cues and conventions, and practicing verbal and nonverbal communication.

Training in life-skills and independent living skills are an essential part of our activities. Activities are conducted in person, virtually, or in community settings.

Empower.

Empowerment is the ultimate objective. Our goals are in sync with the UN Women’s Strategy towards ensuring effective participation and gender equality to strengthen the rights of women and girls with disabilities.

The challenge is huge but we hope to make a modest contribution by facilitating the social and community integration of girls with special needs.

  • “I was so lonely and sad after the pandemic. Now I have many nice friends! Now I feel happy. We do fun things together. We have fun!”

  • “I love Crafternoon class! It’s always fun and everyone is so nice!"
